Dragonfly Fitness and Training

Nkhodeni Ramagwede, born in Welkom and though she spent a majority of her life in Centurion she pretty much lived everywhere. From spending her early years with her grandmother in Damani and at the age of three, living in Canada to coming back to South Africa where she spent some of her life in The Vaal Reefs and Mondeor.“ I had a great deal of exposure to many cultures growing up”, she says. She further explains that her influences come from many corners of the globe and the mind.

Nkhodeni has two older sibling who she loves very much and says that they played their roles to the tee. Growing up as an overweight, Nkhodeni was naturally bullied and as she says tormented for it, but she says that all of that made her the compassionate and a strong person she is today.

She is in the fitness industry, she is a personal trainer and life coach or what she calls, a Transformation Coach. “I find that these two paths work hand-in-hand and it came naturally to fuse them together into what I call a TRANSFORMATION COACH”.

When faced with a situation where there is conflict, she says that she tries her best to look at the situation from both angles before approaching it, as she is a firm believer in keeping the peace both internally all around her. “I engage in what is worth addressing only.” Self-doubt is one of Nkhodeni’s limitations, she explains that she struggles with her internal voice telling her she cannot. How she gets through this she says is by summoning the empress in her and getting out of my own pity party. “I must say, I always comeback stronger”.

Nkhodeni describes self-love as being in alignment with your higher self and that it’s about the person you deserve to be rather than who they are right now, this means accepting your every circumstance and making the sacrifices needed to be complete within yourself. “We hate ourselves for our mistakes and traits that we cannot change”. A lesson she learns almost daily she says, is remembering the situations she pulled herself through and how she survived 100% of her worst days thus far. She adds by saying that, this makes it easier to show yourself compassion which grows into kindness and then into love.

Nkhodeni met her best friend at AFDA (a film school in Johannesburg) studying acting, she says that their wonderful friendship began with a screaming match on stage during a play they were instructed to perform.

She says that she finds inspiration in herself and she wants people to feel powerful around her and believes that the world would be a much better place if there was more love. “I want to be remembered as someone who showed people that they are wonderful beyond their wildest dreams”. It is for this reason she is so passionate about her job.
